Ewa Niesiobędzka-Krause

Ewa is the joint Head of the Patents and Trademarks Department. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn and a Post-graduate of Intellectual Property Rights Studies at the University of Warsaw.  She is registered at the Polish Chamber of Patent Attorneys in Warsaw.

Ewa specializes in issues relating to the protection of intellectual and industrial property rights and unfair competition.  She has many years’ experience in conducting proceedings before national and international organs regarding trademarks, patents and industrial designs.  She consults, prepares agreements and legal opinions in cases relating to intellectual property rights, including those relating to questions of patent protection of inventions.  She supports Clients in fulfilling programs organized by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP) and the National Centre for Research and Development in Poland (NCBiR).  Ewa conducts dispute cases before the Polish Patent Office, the European  Patent Office (EPO), the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).  She has also experience of conducting cases before administrative and common courts as well as the Community Trade Marks and Industrial Property Court.

Ewa is furthermore the author of many articles relating to trademark law on the web portal www.znaktowarowy.info, including: ‘The Shape of a Kit Kat Bar Can Not Be a Trade Mark’, ‘The Use of Known Trade Marks to Sell Imitation Fragrances’, ‘Ever More Notifications to WIPO’, ‘A Picture as a Trade Mark Based on Rembrandt’s Night Watch’.

She has been a speaker at training courses related to the legal protection of trademarks and inventions.

Ewa is recommended in in Intellectual Property by Legal 500 EMEA, as well as by Managing Intellectual Property “IP Stars”, World Trademark Review “WTR1000” and Intellectual Asset Management – Patent 1000 (patent prosecution).
